Been busy beta-testing the latest operating system by Microsoft – Windows 7!!

Windows 7 desktop - what a lovely interface.

Seriously, I am so looking forward to seeing Windows 7 going gold and landing into the hands of customers. Have been testing it extensively for 3 days now, and it is extremely intuitive, capable, and really gives Mac OS X a run for its money.

Features I like

• The new taskbar – i found myself being able to work with many windows much easier now.
• The streamlined Windows Media Player – simplicity at its best.
• Increased battery life – my Sony TX went up from about 4.5 hrs under Vista to 5.5 hrs under Windows 7. XP still holds the crown at close to 6.5 hours though.
• Better windows management – drag a window to the top to see it maximized. shake it and it becomes the only window on the desktop. tile windows side-by-side with ease to compare. it’s great!
• one word – faster. it’s darn fluid. Even on my weak Sony TX, it chugs along like a champ.

For a pre-released software, it is extremely stable, and i’m leaning towards migrating to it full-time as my main OS. I’m in love already as it is.
