Nice video too. Now go watch it (on Disney Channel), if not for anything else, then for Tinker Bell. You go, girl!

New fonts, new fonts!

I rely heavily on good typefaces when design jobs come up – typography is priority one on any good artwork! Anyway, some FREE (woot!) fonts to help you dress up your next PowerPoint (ugh!).

I know, I’m such a sucker for sans serifs. ;)

modern chinese art

This trio of oil pastel on canvas paintings were hung up in a client’s office conference room.

Instead of arriving individually per se, i take it as it is meant to be viewed as a set, with the black-and-white paintngs representing pre-modern China, and the colored one in the middle, a representative of modern China.

What is most striking about these paintings, are the eyes of the girls – incredibly mesmerizing. I don’t think the digital picture does justice, but if you were to see them in person, the eyes take on a lifelike blaze to it. Even the middle painting, the girl’s eyes are barely a slit, but you can still get drawn into them, and the sense of depth that portrays heavy lids over laughing eyes is incredible!

Nice juxtaposition of the various color modes of paintings too, one wonders if the effects would be the same if you were to re-arrange them any other way. Modern China stands out as a stark contrast to the black-and-white defining pre-modern era – a vibrant nation, with a fusion of western economic ideas and the rise of the affluent middle-class.

The reason why i’m typing all these mumbo-jumbo is because i’m in the conference room right now waiting for things to happen. COME ON, THINGS! HAPPEN!
